The weather gets colder in autumn and winter. Many people eat cold things or catch a cold without paying attention, causing diarrhea. Once a person has diarrhea, his body will be very weak. Experts in traditional Chinese medicine believe that acupuncture has a very good effect on treating autumn diarrhea. How should the acupoint be selected?

      Diarrhea special point

Point selection: Special point for diarrhea (positioning: directly below the highest point of the outer ankle of the foot, between the red and white flesh).

Moxibustion: Use moxa rolls for 10 to 15 minutes each time, 2 to 3 times a day until the disease is cured.

      Zhongwan point

Point selection: Zusanli, Yinbai, Tianshu, Zhongwan and Shenque points.

Moxibustion method: Salt-separated moxibustion is used at Shenque point, 5 to 7 moxa sticks are used at each time; other acupoints are moxibustion-free direct moxibustion with moxa sticks. First, apply a small amount of Vaseline ointment on the acupoint, then put a moxa stick the size of a wheat grain, light it and perform moxibustion. When the patient feels that the heat and pain are intolerable, replace the moxa stick, and moxibustion 5 to 7 moxa sticks at each point, once a day, 10 times is a course of treatment.

      Zusanli

Point selection: Zhongwan, Shenque, Tianshu and Zusanli points.

Matching acupoints: If diarrhea occurs for a long time, add Weishu and Dachangshu points; if diarrhea occurs at the fifth watch, add Guanyuan, Qihai, and Mingmen points.

Moxibustion: Mild moxibustion with moxa sticks, 5 minutes at each point; moxa stick moxibustion can also be used, 3 to 5 minutes at each point.

      Shenmai point

      Point selection: Shenmai point.

Moxibustion method: Use the moxa stick peck moxibustion method. The patient takes a sitting or supine position, lights the moxa stick and performs sparrow peck moxibustion on the acupuncture point, so that there is a warm feeling in the local area without burning pain. It is suitable for 10 minutes each time, once a day.

      Tianshu point

Point selection: Tianshu, Zhongwan, Qihai, Shangjuxu points.

Matching points: For severe cold, add Shenque and Guanyuan points; for severe dampness, add Yinlingquan point; for severe vomiting, add Neiguan point; for severe tenesmus and back pain, add Zhongyishu point.

Moxibustion method: Salt-partitioned moxibustion or ginger-partitioned moxibustion is used at Shenque point, with 5 to 8 moxibustion strokes each time. Mild moxibustion with moxa sticks is used at other acupoints, with each point being moxibustion for 5 minutes each time, once a day. This method is mostly used for cold-damp diarrhea.
