Soothe the nerves and help sleep, soy milk and millet are cleverly prepared

Millet is a rare sleep aid food. It is rich in tryptophan, which through metabolism can produce inhibitory effects on the central nervous system nerve Excitability, 5-hydroxytryptamine that makes people feel sleepy. Serotonin can also be converted into melatonin, which has sedative and sleep-inducing effects. Not only that, millet contains a variety of vitamins, amino acids, fats and carbohydrates, with high nutritional value. The content of carotene that is not contained in ordinary grains can reach 0.12 mg/100g. The content of vitamin B1 also ranks first among all grains. The iron content of millet of the same weight is twice as high as that of rice. All these make millet an ideal tonic for the elderly and pregnant women.

However, millet is also nutritionally deficient. The lysine it contains is too low and the leucine is too high. The nutritional value of protein is no better than that of rice. If millet is the staple food, it is easy to lack other nutrients. To make up for these shortcomings, you might as well pair it with soy milk. The protein content in soybeans, the main raw material of soy milk, is as high as about 40%, and the highest quality can reach about 50%. The composition of amino acids in soybean protein is relatively close to the amino acids needed by the human body, and it is a complete protein, with a high content of lysine.

Use soy milk to cook millet porridge. In terms of taste, millet can neutralize the astringency of simple soy milk and make the taste of soy milk softer. In terms of nutrition, the two foods can be very complementary to each other. Some people will feel a little flatulent if they eat soybeans, and get heartburn if they drink millet porridge. If you cook millet porridge with soy milk, you can avoid these special situations. Especially having a bowl of soy milk and millet porridge at dinner is both nutritious and helpful for sleep.
