People often say that one can go gray in just one night, but of course this is not true. Human hair grows at a rate of approximately 0.35 cm per day; it is impossible for someone to suddenly go completely gray just because of the stress they experienced yesterday. However, excessive stress can indeed lead to poor blood circulation, placing a burden on the scalp and indirectly promoting the growth of white hair. How do we treat the problem of gray hair?
Traditional Chinese medicine dietary remedies for treating gray hair
1. Wash 1000 grams of fresh mulberries (or 500 grams of dried mulberries), add an appropriate amount of water, and decoct them. Collect the decoction every 30 minutes, then add more water and continue decocting. Repeat this process twice in total to obtain two portions of the decoction. After combining the decoctions, simmer them over low heat until they become thick. Then add 300 grams of honey and bring to a boil before removing from the heat. Let it cool down before pouring it into bottles for later use. Take 1 tablespoon each time, dissolve it in boiling water, and consume it twice a day.
2. Take 12 large walnuts, remove their shells and the outer flesh, then roast and chop the walnut kernels for later use. Additionally, prepare 60 grams each of goji berries and fleece-flower root, as well as 240 grams of adzuki or black soybeans.
3. Thoroughly wash the black beans, then steam and dry them several times before storing them in a porcelain jar. Consume 6 grams twice a day, chewing them before swallowing with a little salt water. At the same time, consume an additional egg and 2 large walnuts every day. Continuing this routine will surely yield beneficial results.
4. First, decoct goji berries and fleece-flower root in an appropriate amount of water until the juice becomes concentrated. Then strain out the residue. Next, add the toasted and chopped walnut kernels and black beans to the juice, and continue to decoct until the walnut kernels are tender and all the juice has been absorbed by the black beans. Finally, remove it and let it air dry or dry it at a low temperature before taking it. Take 2 times a day, 6 to 9 grams each time, on an empty stomach in the morning and evening, or whenever you feel hungry.
Five good habits for preventing gray hair
1. Reduce stress
People under too much stress are prone to losing their hair and may also experience accelerated aging, leading to premature graying of hair. Try to relax as much as possible. You can listen to soothing music, or go to a coffee shop, drink some coffee, and let your mind wander – just do whatever helps you calm down.
2. Drink plenty of water
Drinking water is beneficial for the human body. Some people claim that drinking eight glasses of water a day is the most healthy way to stay hydrated, since the body loses a significant amount of water throughout the day. It is therefore essential to replenish this loss promptly. For women, water serves as an affordable and effective means of maintaining good health. Keeping the body well-hydrated can help keep the skin looking young and vibrant, slow down the process of aging, and delay the appearance of gray hair.
3. Quit smoking
Smoking regularly accelerates the aging process of the body. The first step in fighting aging and preventing gray hair is to quit smoking! What if someone has been smoking for so long that they think they can’t quit? Start by reducing the amount you smoke, or try to avoid it altogether.
4. Adequate sleep
Adequate sleep can help the body relax, promote normal metabolic processes, and ensure that all organs function properly. Moreover, getting enough sleep also allows the scalp to rest properly, helping to keep hair healthy and shiny.
5. Consume more protein
High-protein foods are beneficial for the body. For example, foods like chicken and eggs can provide the necessary protein intake, which is very beneficial for both the body and the skin.
